Y’all!! We’re on the way home!! Dr.F showed up this morning and was beyond impressed at how Dawson is bouncing back!! Labs are amazing, head swelling isn’t near what it could be, and he’s acting almost normal… humor and all!!! He LOVED his shower this morning, washing the hair was one of the requirements to be able to leave today and he was a champ!! Hoping to go on vacation asap!!:)

Another reason we LOVE #DrFearon is, his attitude towards life, even with these littles, is that we only live once so might as well live it up if they’re feeling up to it!! A few restrictions, but things are looking REALLY good!!!👏🏻

The fact that this boy is up and in a wagon in less than 24 hours since posterior cranio vault reconstruction “brain surgery” as some call it, is nothing short of a miracle!

Take a second to appreciate the beauty of how round the back of Dawsons head is now!!!👏🏻

He’s doing above and beyond what we ever could have expected at this point! Swelling isn't to the max yet, but still looks great! Incision is holding really well! Quite a bit grumpy since stopping anxiety meds, but other than that, he’s doing amazing! There is absolutely ZERO comparison between anterior and posterior recovery with him!! We’re so grateful!!! We’re hoping to go home tomorrow and continue healing in our own beds and surroundings!!! #cvr #craniosynostosis #craniowarrior #apert #posteriorvaultremodel #cranioreconstruction #toddlersurgery #drfearon #dallas #medicalblessings

We arrived at the hospital at 6:00, did pre-op things then Daws went back around 7:50am and came out around 12:30!!

Dawson is out of surgery and in ICU for this first stage of recovery! It took about 2.5 hours now to settle him down, he puked multiple times, cried a ton and was saying “hurt dadda” (which breaks our hearts), he thrashed all over the bed so bad he yanked out one of his main lines for blood draw, thanks to coming down from anesthesia haha. …but other than that, he’s doing amazing now!!! Meds have kicked in and he’s resting!! (He refuses to let us cover him up though) his stubborn streak hasn’t went anywhere haha!

We so appreciate all the prayers and messages!!! The next few days will be LONG and hard, but the most dangerous part is over I think!!!
